Bekah Bossard is an LA-born, Exeter-based artist who has just dropped their debut single, ‘What You Wanted’. It’s a great track that relies on a silky vocal performance and guitar-heavy arrangements to forge their own take on modern indie rock. The track juxtaposes a laid-back drum performance with gritty guitar loops and soaring string synths. “I wrote this song about coming out as queer and the rejection I faced in response and coming to terms with the fact that I can’t change their minds,” they explain. It’s a powerful message placed within a powerful track, and we can’t wait to see more from Bekah Bossard. -Dan Peeke.
